What I am building here

This site runs on the stack I work with every day: WordPress doing what it’s best at behind the scenes, a modern front-end doing what it’s best at in front of you. That’s not an accident and it’s not a demo — it’s the point. This blog is where I write down what building things actually teaches, while it’s still fresh enough to be honest about.

The first build note is the site itself

Everything you’re reading arrives from a headless WordPress install through a GraphQL API into a Next.js front-end — static for you, editable for me, published in English and Spanish with the machinery to keep both honest. Every page carries structured data so machines can read it as confidently as people do, and there’s even a /llms.txt for the AI crawlers that skip HTML altogether. What to expect here

Notes, not tutorials. Short pieces from real work: WordPress and WooCommerce engineering — the custom blocks, the field structures, the things content teams actually thank you for; headless architectures and when they’re worth the extra moving parts (and when they’re not); building AI assistants for commerce, which I do daily on Trill AI Chat; and making sites measurable and findable — analytics that respect visitors, and showing up correctly when the thing doing the searching is an AI.

Each note will include the decisions and the dead ends, because the dead ends are usually the useful part. No cadence promises — I write when there’s something worth writing down, which beats the alternative.

Why write it down at all

Writing forces verification. It’s easy to believe you understand a decision until you try to explain it to someone who can check. Public notes keep me honest about what I actually know versus what I assumed — and if one of them saves you a detour I already took, even better.
